  • Do Fiberglass Hoods Warp??

Hey, I just got a Fiberglass Hood without any insulation panel and I've heard that if you paint it without one the paint is going to warp becuase of the heat. Is this true???

ive never heard of the mecham warping. the best way to tell if it will warp is to look at the underside of the hood. If it pretty thick and has a lot of bracing like the stock hood it will usually be fine. The people that usually have the problems are the import guys that get the cheap hoods that have no bracing at all. I have a fiberglass fabricators ram air hood and it has had no problems, and it is considered an off brand

Almost all aftermarket hoods are fiberglass. And I know a lot of people don't have problems. Including me, i've had a fiberglass ram air hood on my car for the past 3 years. Maybee it's just a mecham thing.
