I've seen a red 97 camaro with the F-1 kit painted black, and I have to be honest with ya....don't like it at all!! Paint it the same color as the car!!!

If you went with that color scheme, the black would pretty much make the ground effects invisible. It wouldn't appear to be lowering your car closer to the ground b/c the drastic color break b/w the white and black would be too blunt. The black would blend in with the shadows of the underside of your car and disappear.

yeah, keep it the same color as the car. Otherwise your car wont look clean. If cars come two-toned like the monte's, then thats cool, but i wouldnt purposely try to make my car like that. do it all the same color, thats my $.02

Ground effects should be painted the same color as the car. I think 99% of the time, if they are a different color it looks tacky.

Ive seen a 2 tone Camaro and it looked sweeeeet.

It was money green, then from the hatch up it was black.

The 3rd gens can pull it off. And a 4th gen could as well, but only if the colors work together. The favorite color combo for two tone I have seen is on 3rd gens with a red body and silver ground effects, looks slick. It could be done on a 4th gen..

the black hoops came stock... but thats a bit different. they look allright, but breaking the color at the gfx doesnt usually look very good. gfx are supposed to flow with the body's lines, not break them up. and harbin's right, painting them black is about the same as not getting gfx at all. i'd definitely stick with one color all around.

ok thanks everyone that helped a lot, but say i did go with that idea and did red kit instead of black so it would be white and red, and also had red stripes

I thought of doing that except instead of money green, I'd want it...well it's not quite orange and it's not quite red with a candy mix going on...forgot the color..but it's popular mix on Sport Trucks...looks pretty coo'...
