well...the white panel is just paper...do a search for HVAC you'll get alot of hits....the clear knobs only work for the 97+ cars...dunno how the older ones are setup, all you have to do for clear knobs is rip the rubber off of the knob, and walla...nothing to it...but Im not certain if it will work on your year ;)

i have a 2001 firebird and i pulled the rubber off of my knob (haha that sounds funny...rubber of my knob) anyway it was WHITE underneath!!! not too worried though as i painted the rubber silver and the paint kept coming off on my fingers GRRR and so i did this and repainted them, look friggin tight now, although no more little red lighty thing and there are some holes in the top of the knobs that are ugly so i might sand it down, fill the holes with something and then repaint it....DONT BUY GOD DA!@#$ MOTHER@$% KING PEICE OF@#IT LOWES PLASTICRAP PAINT, TOTAL RIP OFF WWHEN YOU RUB ANYTHING YOU PAINTED IT LIKE GETS ON UR FINGERS, I FOLLOWED THE INSTRUCTIONS THIS STUFF JUST SUCKS!!!! get pepboys duplicolor, have heard nice things about it... toodaloo

used correctly the plastic primer from lowes works wonders....you have to scuff the surface before you shoot it on....and were talkin camaros, we already knew birds were like that.....and now that I think of it your knobs will probably be white if you take the rubber off....best off if you leave em alone...unless you wanna get aluminum knobs for about 30$...forget where I saw em...but again do a search ;)

i think something that would look real sweet is if i make my clear HVAC controls light up blue, like maybe drill out a small hole and stick an LED in there.

              That would be killer.

                CAMAROWIDBASS,

Did you make those or buy them? If you bought them - where?

If your car is a 97+ take off your existing knobs. Go to your bathroom get out the hair dryer and set it on high, warm up the knobs.

Gently peel off the black plastic and they will be clear like that underneath.

And "Presto" you can be just like me
