Scratches...

Ive started noticing all theses little scractes on the top of my headlight thing... and a few on the hood, one key mark that wasnt there when i got the car 3 months ago. So im wondering if i really could have done all this damage just from driving around the city, or if somone touched up the paint before i bought the car. The people who had this car before me lived on a farm and would have drivin it on a gravel yard. What do you guys think caused it and what should i do about it.

scratches are pretty much there to stay. u can buy touch up paint (but it still doesnt look good). you can buy scratch remover (which hardly works). and u can buy colored wax (makes it look better but u have to reapply every 2 weeks or so)

im sad now :( my car had one small scratch on it when i bought it now it has many.. :( :( :(

They arent really scratches either there small little spots where like little pebbles hit it or something.

its just from stuff getting thrown up behind the car on the highway. the reason you get these scratches is from following close to cars on the highway. if you follow close behind a car moving at a decent speed you will get plenty of little rocks thrown up at your bumper. the best way to avoid it is to stay far back from the car in front of you. i make a habit of staying far back since i recently had my front end repainted. you especially want to avoid 18wheelers or anything wth huge tires. the only thing you can do about these nicks to fix them right is a repaint.

As long as the scratches aren't too deep you can probably claybar and wax and that should get rid of them.

I find that so wierd though, my car isnt drivin on the highway, ive been on the highway once in three months, i have on reason to so i dont. And my bumper has 0 scratches, its so damnd wierd. And its driving me insane. Does anywhere sell the little plate things that go over the lights.

Claying only gets rid of surface contaminants, wax is for protecting and helps with the shine....

What kind of scracthes are you talking about? headlight? I assume you got a firebird. If it's surface scratches, you can polish it out. If it's down to the primer or even the metal/plastic, you are SOL. I recommend you get what I got, an INVINCISHIELD.
