Well one of my buddies decided he was gonna be a prik and steal my antenna, now it's lost! I have went to the local auto parts store and bought a GM antenna that will supposedly fit the camaro, but it doesn't fit The male thread of the mount is too big. I have also tried universal antennas but the thread is too big for them too. Any idea's?
I was just thinking this is probly a Gen.Tech question huh?

I've gotten a camaro specific antenna before and it didn't fit though?

Have it shaved off. I think the antennas on our cars are ugly, at least get a power antenna. I have a Dakota Digital in my 6 and a Autoloc hidden antenna in my Z28. They both get almost as good reception as the stock antenna. And your friend must've been really bored, if I was you I'd use that antenna you got that didn't work and slap him across the face with it a couple times.

cost??....take a pliers, rag, and a grinder....rip the ball off the top of the antenna (carefully)...then cut to desired height, since the bottom of the antenna get gradually larger in diameter than the top you have to grind the very top of your now cut antenna so the ball will fit back on top, use some superglue, shove the ball on top and your done ;) ....or dont be a cheap as$ and just buy a nice billet antenna that is already shortened for 20$ ;)

So it was Shortened, not shaved. When you say shaved, I think the whole Antenna is gone, then the quarter pannel is smoothed out and filled in and repainted.

I was talking about totally getting rid of the antenna. I don't know, I had both the cars repainted and I had him just shave it off. I don't know how much he'd charged if he'd just done it by itself.
