i like the criss-cross pattern these come in. are there any kits to make our tail lights look like this? would you just have to replace the whole light?

No, they are not on 97 birds.
All LT1s had slotted tail lights.
All 93-97 birds had regular ones.

Whoever said the formula lights wont fit is smokin something. The rear of the f-body didn't change from 93 till now. They are the same backends with the exception for the lower skirts on the Trans Ams. THe taillights are the EXACT same size and will fit. Those "slotted" lights came on 93-97 Formulas and Trans Ams. The V6 birds came with the plain red lights from 93-97. In 98 they changed them all to the honeycomb style.
