Castrol degreaser really sucks, don't use it on your engine. I decided to clean my engine bay and sprayed it down with this stuff and it totally screwed everything aluminum. Everything I had polished is now white and theres a white film left on most everything else. All of the things that are aluminum but not shiney (Intake Alternator TB etc) also have a white film on them. I tried repolishing my A/C thing and it was twice as hard to get shiney as when I first did it. This stuff really sucks [img]graemlins/thumbsdown.gif[/img]

I've had this happen also. From now on, just use soap and water only. You will be able to get most of it out (and get the shine back) by rubbing the sh*t out of the parts with mother's chrome polish or another brand such as Eagle One.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

Another good tip for you: repaint the alternator/intake with some Por20. It'll look better than new.2004 CE Corvette 10.86@132mph

Its a good degreaser. I think it tells you that its not to be used on aluminum.
A good engine detail kit is CD2. You can get it for around $6 at Target and Autozone. Its a pretty good detail kit, 2 cans, 1 a degreaser the other a detailer.Comment

Also, keep the degreaser(s) away from your Rims too. I learned the hard way! It strips the clearcoat right off!
