I read someplace that you can fit a ZR1 17x11 vette replica rim on the rear of our cars. My question is what is the widest tire you can put on that size rim. I heard it was 3115-35-17? Anyone tried this?

You can put 295s back there without any rubbing problems whatsoever... 315s tend to slightly rub when going over bumps but a little bit of hammering and axle placement makes them work fine yes.2002 5-spd NBM Camaro

yeah, the extra rim and tire will be heavier, and the increased traction will put more stress on the rear end. If you want some nice, wide rims, ZO6 18x10.5 rims w/ 295-35-18 tires will work fine, no rubbing at all from what I've heard.2001 Arctic White Firebird
More mods than I\'m allowed to list!

Thanks for the website, It had good info on it. Seems like the extra 2lbs of weight wouldn't be bad considering the extra traction you would get.
I did not realize that 315's would rub on the inside of the wheel wells. The site did mention that there are differnt offesets too.
It would be nice if you could get a 17x11 wheel and tire combo that would let you just bolt it on and have it work with no rubbing. Guess that can't happen? Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

Andrew N. Since you have 17x11's what was the offset you used?
Did you have to get any spacers or anything like that?
Other modifications like triming fender wells etc?
Any Rubbing?
What size tire do you use with it?Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

theres no rubbing at all.
the only catch is, when you put them on, you have to jack the car up by the axle or they wont go on.
tires are 315/35/17, the next size up is 45's, and there like 450$ per tire. my 35's were about 125$.1999 White Ford SVT Lightning.

Hoping to dyno @ 450hp/550tq by the end of \'04.

Andrew what is the offset on yours? Where did you get them?
