That's the only time I'd have one. They don't look all that great IMO. But if a person were able to paint the bird to match the car, that might make it look a little better.

Why is this cool?
1) The regular firebird filler plates go for as much as $60 on ebay. Good luck getting a cheap one from a dealer.
2) Unless you've got a black or silver bird, it's tough getting it in your color. That means you have to paint the one you want.
3) These are clear... ready for your imagination. Do the whole "lit up bird" mod.
4) I don't know what the law states in Cali. I'm still doing it till I get told not to.

I got a regular filler plate from ebay for 20 bucks. Most people around here(I live in cali) who have firebird and trans ams have the license plate filler and they never get pulled over because of it. Those clear fillers look awful, they look out of place, specially if you have a dark colored car.

Clears should be legal, I dont see why it would be illegal.
I have the regular filler, with no front plates, and I have been with that for about 4 months now. And luckily no tickets on that yet.
In VA you have to have a front plate displayed at all times in the proper location. I think this will make the car look a little smoother and of course, it will cut down on the all important aerodynamics of the front facia. LOL
Maybe I can get better a better ET with less wind resistance

Covering your plate with anything be it clear or not is illegal for the simple reason that at an angle a cop trying to read your plate will encounter glare from the shine on the cover. It has been dubbed illegal for this reason. It's also illegal because people use clear covers to keep from getting tagged by ticketing cameras. The flash on them causes a glare on any cover that makes it impossible to get a clear photo of your plate, making you immune to ticketing.
