  • Headlight Blackout Installation... '97 'Maro

Basically I didn't find instructions for them, and I just want to make sure I'm doing the right thing.

They're RKsport, and I see that it comes with screws.... but are those necessary? If so, where should I use them? There are not enough screws for the number of holes on the metal peices it comes with.

    Thank Yeh ;)

    NOOO!
Just go to Home Depot and get some two-sided tape!!!
If you need pics of what the mounts look like, I'll send them to you tomorrow, but DON'T drill holes for them to fit. You'll ruin the plastic headlight surroundings permanently.

Hahaha, don't worry! I didn't drill holes. I am very concerned about this too. The dealership that had my car before me drilled the front license plate holder into my car.... Those holes still bug me...

I figured it out... I guess the screws are just for someone that wants something more permanent. These blackouts are... saweet!!!!

I'll try to see if I can wash my car and take some pics tomorrow. The car is pretty much totally blacked out. I took it for a little drive to see how bad the visibility really is and dang... it's like trying to drive with a flashlight. I'm just glad I can take them off in like 30 seconds if I want ;D.

Bleh, I'm very happy with my RKsports. Since you know I've already purchased them... even if AVS were better... why would you bring that up now?

Besides, I wanted blinker and foglight blackouts as well, and I wanted them all to be from the same company, so I went with RKsport.

Black rims too? Send pics when you're finished. I think that is a BADA$$ look for any camaro or transam.

I think instead of spending like I dunno... 1200 or something on black rims, I might just paint my current rims black, and clearcoat them and all that. Basically my dad was like "Why waste money on those when you can just paint them... and if you don't like it.. you can repaint them..."

                  It's worth a shot... don't you think?
