ZR-1's are waaay too played out. Find something a little more original. Theres plenty of options out there. But if you're stuck on ZR-1's then a nice chrome set with 11's in the back would be pretty nice. Ive seen em on birds/TA's and they look OK. If you want factory I think the Hawk or WS6 wheels look better though.

I've seen 2 TA's with the ZR1's. I think they look good. I was surprised how much I liked them on a TA! 17x11's are nice in the back! I have Chrome ZR1's on my Z28 with 17x11's in the back! Actually I bought them used off of a guy on this forum! He had them on his Firebird!!!

You can find them relatively cheap just slightly used or even new! I'd suggest getting them!

Zr1s are pretty easy to keep clean simple design.

If oyu put a nice coat of wax on them it helps them stay clean and when you do clean them makes it much easier. Not sure how conventional waxes is on chrome (I'd research it out and see if they do stay on chrome ok) but(here we go again) Zaino, bonds to pretty much any hard smooth surface. It really keeps the wheels from getting dirty and when they are, I only have to wipe them down with the same sponge I wash my car with and they come clean easily.

BUt putting a polish or wax on my rims in the past it alway made them easeir to clean and they stayed cleaner longer.

And once again with the Zaino... It makes the brake dust come off reeeeal easy. I have not had to use a "wheel cleaner" since I polished my rims back in january, just wipe them off.

I woudl look for a set of used Zr1s, they are around. but SLP sells them new, and there are replicas all over ebay by companies like AFSwheels.

their alwasy seems to be a few sets of Zr1s floating around the For sale section at www.camaroz28.com

As for pics... I did a quick search cannot find any pics of them on a firebird.(except the one I posted)

Might try www.cardomain.com and do a search on firebirds. Its not common at all to have zr1s on a firebird. I have seen it online before, but never in person. Just on Camaros.

ZR1's don't look bad as long as they are chrome or polished... but paint is kind of plain. Not much better then regular painted 16" Firebird wheels. Get chrome ZR1's at least.. think they would look decent on your car.

Have you thought about any Firehawk or WS6 wheels? 98-00 WS6s would look good on yours. Even 01-02's wouldn't look bad. :D

if i do it im gonan get chrome. i was gonna get firehawk wheels originally but thought that was somehow steeling the firehawk image which i am not. when you say ws6 wheels you mean the plan 17 inch ones that are justlike the painted ones only chrome. nah but the new ws6 wheesl arent to bad. im also looking at the vette wheels (c5) but i know quite a few people with those. its all about originality

I never mentioned your name, please leave mine out of it, trying to follow board rules here, thanks. Im just giving my opinion that painted ZR-1's are too common and theres some better more original designs out there worth looking into. A chrome wheel will set off the black nicely though, I think you are on the right track.

ZR-1's look better on a Camaro than on a Firebird, IMHO.. Chrome 5-stars or some aftermarket chrome Bullitt wheels look much better...
