  • 68 hood scoops on a 86 / 10 foot paint job.

The paint looks really nice in pic and from 10 feet away. Can say to wait 60 days and I plan on blocking it well then do a clear coat.

But that's not really even my point. Just wanted to share my hood scoop mod. I bought some $60 open metal scoops for a 68 Bird from year one and then molded them into the hood. They sit right at the apex of the hood. So they face froward and grab lots of air. [Sitting inside the car they sit right where the hood line disappears.]

I think I would worry more about the multi colored fog lamps.

I gotta re-charge some batteries first to take some more pics. Yes they are functional. Very functional. Between them and my home made air dam the car run cool and strong.

The difference between cool out side air and under hood hot air is night and day.

and yea I need to replace a bulb. But it has no effect on performance. The like to blow one at a time. Just changed the left last month.

I don't have any newer pics [took this one a long while ago with a web cam] but I made a manifold out of hi temp ducting. Bent it into an oval shape for clearance. Just used silicone to stick it to the hood. I had to add a piece of aluminum flashing on the left to keep the Alt from eating into it.

Ya tell people to please don't touch it, fresh paint. And then a squirl fall out of a tree onto my hood and someone put their grubby fingers on it.
