Hey, just wanted to ask a few quick questions about your install on the t-tops. I want some soooo bad on my 2001 camaro. Do you know if GM would do it, and could you tell me how long it took for you to do yours, I looked at your site and the pics of you doing it (drool). Your my hero for doing that, its awesome. Know anyone who might do it? Or if you felt generous you could show me how to do it in person. Thanks for your input hero.

Sure thing! But first, I will move this to the right forum and then I will answer the questions for you Off to Apperance we go....

OK. First, I'd count on a genie popping out of your exhaust pipe and *poofing* them into your car before I'd count on GM doing it ;) It doesn't hurt to ask though. I also took it around to 5 body shops and auto glass places that install Sunroofs & such and 4 laughed in my face, the 5th said, "Yeah I see how I could do that and if it wasn't for the liability involved I'd do it for you. Sorry." I even offered to sign a waiver of liability but he wouldn't go for it. I gave up hope for someone doing it for me so I spent a solid year studying 2 other people who have done it's work before I dove into the project.

It took me roughly 40 hours spread out across about 3 weeks in the dead of winter to do it, from the first cut to the fine-tuning of the weatherstrip placement and fighting the 1 leak that emmerged. But because of the extensive resarch and studying I did before hand I didn't run into any suprises at all.

If you brought a sawzall and a dremmel up to Billings I'd give you a hand with it, but it's winter again and I'm not so sure you want to hack the roof off now that I don't have a garage

At any rate, if you have any other questions, don't hesitate to ask here or drop me an e-mail. You can also AIM, ICQ or MSN message me if you'd like. My IM names are in my user profile.

    Good luck!

    -Mike

dude, just go check out kassabian motors for some cool cars for dirt cheap. they got 2 89 turbo TA's that they'll probly dump for around 10k. I used 2 live up there in tracy, so I know why the t-tops r a must. :D

I'd recommend waiting til summer.... Unless you have 4wd or like to ski it totally bites a** up here unless it's summer.

Lol, your lucky, I guess. Our winter is rain, 45 mph winds, then more and more rain. Bites a** out here during the winter, but Ive got a girlfriend out here and she calls me to come over and keep her warm. I did hear of a place in San Jose (someone at home depot reffered them to me) He said it was called happy vans conversions. I dont think theres any place called that, but I'm gonna try. Besides, Id rather take a summer trip down there, Sounds like one hellof a road trip before college, kinda gets me excited. Lmao, I just called to of the best sunroof places in the Bay area, one said it cant be done, my reply was someone did it themselves, and i just wanted to pay someone to do it, he said he can put a sunroof, which cannot be done. I then called the second place and they said t-tops nor a sunroof can be installed) I then called back the other place and they said a sunroof can't be put it? I said yes because of the structure under the roof. Then I asked if dual moonroofs can be put in they said the famous "bring it down and we'll take a look at it". LMAO what losers. Goodjob MTMike.
