• Aftermarket hoods?

Does anyone know how much our factory alum hoods weight? If so how much weight could be reduced by getting an aftermarket fiberglass hood?
    Thanks,
JAM
02 Firebird GT

I recently bought a Ram Air Hood from RKsport. After taking off my stock hood and comparing the two. The new Fiberglass hood is a good 15-20 pounds lighter maybe more..

True dat Landon. I could pick up my suncoast hood easly comparted to the heavy stock hood. Aftermarket hoods are a good 20 lbs or so weight reduction.

I would say about 20LBS also, I got the SLP Ram Air H.O. hood and it was significantly lighter over stock hood.

Nice to hear that it shaves off weight. With using the ram air hood did you notice any other effects? Better cooling, increased power, etc?
