Okay you guys, I bought this car 6/24 and haven't been able to get a decent coat of wax on the car. EVERYTIME it streaks something aweful. In the shade, in a garage, in a car wash bay, in the parking lot, in the middle of the night, in the early morning -- oh you get the point. -- It constantly streaks.
I've been using Zymol, and I used KIT wax once (because I was desperate) . . . . other than going Zano ;) Any have any other suggestions?
I know this may seem like a stupid question, but do you dry the car..?
That is the only thing I can think of unless you put it on too thick or don't let it dry long enough.
Let the wax dry on for at least two hours, especially if you put it on thick.
If you decide to switch to Zaino, look me up

Wash with dishwashing detergent, like Dawn to get rid of any old wax buildup. Then start over and try it again. Make sure the product is dry before buffing, and make sure you aren't using too much at a time.

What kind of towels are you using? If they don't have much pile to them, wax can build up quickly making it difficult to remove it all without streaks. And make sure it is hazed well before removing. See if it is dry by using your finger to take some up. If you see streaks where your finger was, wait
If you want a miror finish . first wash it compleately so you have no water spots or anything on the car . Then aply 3M imperial hand glaze . next step 3M Pro formula paste wax and you'll be blown away . the glaze hides most scufs in the clear coat and realy helps to get a miror finish with the wax. should take you no more than 3 houres or so. i try to do this once amonth to keep my finish up.
My car is black so i know wear your comeing from.

That will last.... a week?
No wax lasts due to the fact that it is a wax, and it's active ingredients are silicone oils - which wash off the first time your car gets wet, or evaporates the first time your car sits in the hot sun.

Ok some people might disagre with the wax i use but,the 3M hand glaze is the most important step if you want that miror like finish.
for all you zano users try useing the 3M hand glaze first, and then your over priced zano you wont be sory. Go to any pro body shop or detailing shop and the'll tell you it's their lil secret to hideing all those swirls and scratches.
and thell also tell you not to waste your money on those expensive polishes.
I'm tellin'ya all try the 3M you'll never go back.

Speed Freak - you really don't have any idea about what makes up a wax or polish do you? If that works for you that's fine, but I'm trying to protect my paint, not just give it a temporary shine.
geisencam - just because water still beads, doesn't mean that wax is still on it. Water beaded on my paint (before I used Zaino) after I washed with dish detergent, something that strips off ALL wax.
Edit - just stick with whatever works for you....
