oh yea domestic no offence on the stupid police comment but the cops around here are full fasions of the full word Dickheads i mean when 2 pple get pulled over for drag racing and niether were speeding but both had sports cars and were next to each other i see it as retarded

Edit: what i ment to say was that blue isnt illegal but they still pull us over for even green neons

I think it looks awful, green. You're DEFINITELY not alone.

I'd rather stick forks in my eyes and run into walls at fast speeds than have to look at neon inside or under any car. But that's just me. And I like running into walls. But my point still stands!

i had blue neos on my old car and i live in KY but drive in Ohio and I never had a problem, I had them for about 3 years. But i would just check with the local law.

And Neons look if they are done right going over board looks rice.
              So just do them right!!!

I don't think neons look good on any car.
That of course is my opinion, which isn't shared with most people.
But it's their car so let them do what they want.

Well I appreciate and respect your guys opinions. I felt the same way not too long ago but then I saw some camaro's with neons and they looked great. But, I did not ask for opinions in the subject of this post so if you dont have anything helpful to say please dont waste space. Thanks.

O.k heres the deal, I am a mandated comm officer in GA and me and my officers had this big stink over the whole legality of red and blue lights on cars .

So , I basically read the whole 2002 GA law book reguarding traffic laws. Here is what i have come up with.

You can have red lights under your car as long as the tubes are not exposed and give off a blinding light. You can have red lights anywhere on your car , such as I do in my front marker/ DRL lights on my 1999 firebird , Here is the catch.

These lights can not blink nor strobe to be construed as an emergency vehicle.

This goes the same for blue lights.

However this is state law, and your particular city may have a local ordinance that outlaws it all together, but I SERIOUSLY DOUBT IT.

As a matter of fact I just installed a complete underbody neon kit (RED) on a jetta for a friend about two weeks ago, and my officers just pick at the guy about it.

I am gonna do my car in red soon but not untill after NOPI

P.S. NOPI is next weekend in ATL , I am gonna enter my car in the conservative class, You ought to come check it out

                      HOPE THIS INFO HELPS

Thanks alot Michael!! That is exactly what I wanted to know. I went ahead and ordered a 24" blue neon for the front so we will see how it goes. I havent decided yet if I want the full kit or not.

It would be cool if I could get over atlanta for NOPI. I will have to see whats going on. Thanks again!

they make those laws for a very good reason. in the same manner as boat lighting, vehicles are equpped so that a quick glance at one, during nighttime hours, can give you the direction of travel. a white and/or amber light in the front and a red light in the back quickly and clearly tells you which direction the car is going. i do not know of any states that allow you to operate a vehicle with red lights visible from the front of the car. most states adopt federal standards or closely adhere to them, which requires certain colored lights. federal laws govern the equipment that is OEM; this includes OEM aftermarket replacements. it is a very good law and i strictly enforce it.

Maybe Im not reading this right but I dont see where it says you cannot have a red light up front. It just says at least one light must be white or amber. Am I missing something??
