You will need a Digital Dakota box to reclibrate the RPMs as they will be 25% off.

The pcm keeps a record of the miles. This does not affect the odometer.

The odometer in the cluster also keeps a record of the miles. This is what will be displayed.

The speedo will work the same. (only it can go higher) :D

The new cluster will start at the same point it ended, when it was taken out of the other car.

My old cluster had 87,000 miles on it.

The swap cluster shows 65,000 miles...

John: I figured it would just be a matter of multiplying a certain constant in HPtuners to account for the higher speedo. Same as you would do for gear changes, I think it would just be a matter of multiplying by a factor, and it would read correctly. I've been wanting to do this for a while, but haven't come across any cheap clusters I can't live without.

Matt, I don't know of a factor in the pcm that is changeable for the speedo readout... Only the one you mentioned for gear changes, which would affect shift points, timing map, etc. Are you thinking about just putting a different face on the existing speedo? (like in another post on here somewhere?) Rather than swapping the whole cluster? If that's the case, you might be able to get a speedo adapter and put it in the line between the pcm and the speedo, but I don't know what kind of signal is being sent there.
