  • Yep, another zaino update...

I know how some of our members love these updates, and love to look at pictures of my stock car.

1st and formost, yes zaino sucks its overpriced, not durable, doesn't shine well, and every product out there gives a better shine and looks better.

So no need to tell us in this thread. Already stated

Either way, I zainoed my car in February 2004 as in almost 8 months ago. I have washed my car maybe 6-8 times in that period. I have put ~8,000 miles on the car and I have not washed my car in over 1.5 months.

SInce my last wash car has been through 3 hurricanes, experienced winds/rains as high as 115 mph. Been through 2 tropical depressions, I have autocrossed it, put a good 2,000 miles including 2 roadtrips. Visit my townhouse that is being built at least 1-2 times a week in a construction area, park in a sand lot on campus, Numerous rains storms and my car is a 100% outside car in Florida.

Took these pictures 5 minutes ago.

Good mirror effect on my apartment building.

An 8 oz bottle of Zaino is $13

The starter kit comes with 2 clay bars, bottle of Z2, bottle of Z5, Bottle of ZFX, bottle of Z6 detailer spray, Bottle of Z7 car wash concentrate, and you will get too cotton applicators.

Instead of piecing together all the stuff needed to get a nice detailing kit together you buy it all at once.

no, zaino is good, yes it's pricey, it's durable and it shines. But THERE ARE other sealants out there besides Zaino and if you visit other Detailing Message boards you will see. You don't need any kit from Zaino, unless u are clueless. If you want Zaino, basically all you need is Z2 and Z5 and u can use any car wash and claybar. Zaino's clay bar is the exact same brand as Mothers clay, down to the packaging and part number. But you can replace Z2/z1 with other products and Z5 will bond to it just fine. I just bought some Klasse polish and it's one of the steps u use before the sealant. I choose to use EXP about 16oz for $14.99 over Z5 cuz it's cheaper.

                        Basically these are the steps
                        1)wash and dry
                        2)clay
                        3)polish(like Z2, Klasse, Wolfgang, Poorboys)
                        4)sealant(Z5, SG, DGP, EXP, etc.)
5)QD is optional for touch up

I take pictures of cars everyday for a living and when you take a picture of a dirty dark color car, it still shows the reflections and most of the dust and dirt on the vehicle doesn't show up in the pic.

</font>[/QUOTE]I agree there is other stuff out there I jsut posted that because most threads everyone tells me how, just about everything off the shelf at walmart, and autozone is better. I type that to keep people out.

Yes you can use any carwash and you can use a Mother's claybar, by why not just order it all at once? These were made to work together, alot of other stuff is compatible, by why not keep it all the same brand? Is the Zaino carwash bad? Works great for me. You said yourself its the same claybar as teh mother's claybar. If your ordering Zaino, why not get the claybar instead of not getting it then drivng around town to find the mother's claybar?

I think the problem is people don't want to spen $85 on one purchase. They woudl rather spend $20, $20, $20, and $25 over a 2 week period, with a total of $85 spent.

I will admit I cheat on my pics a little, my car does get dirty at times, mostly dust and such, but after a raining, it all gets washed off and looks great with pretty much no waterspots. Before I go to car meets I hose my car down and "drive dry" it. These pics were taken 2 days after a hurricane so most dust was rinsed off.

And like I want to state, I KNOW THERE IS OTHER STUFF OUT THERE BESIDES ZAINO! Every post people tell me there is other stuff, I know there is. Go use your other stuff and give updates over a several month timeframe. Maybe people will use your stuff as well.

I know stuff shines better then zaino, but lets say zaino is a 95 on the shine scale, and "brand X" is a 100 on the scale. Which one lasts 8 months, on an outside car in florida?

my car is mostly yellow and i couldn't beleave how much brighter it made the yellow, not only that i found over spray in my black after ziano, no other product made them show up. i have tried every brand in walFart/auto zone and Z is the best so far. not only that Z5 really filled in the DEEP swirl marks in the black paint, the lip from the factory black to the yellow can barly be felt now

and bugs pfhhhhhh they rinse of now.

oh and plus ten points for the pimp-factor too ;)

and my mom just told me my tires are still shiny after over 2 months since i put the Ziano tire shine on :D
