Don't worry about it. I took my mouldings off today!! :D
The paint underneath is in great shape, you can't even tell there was ever anything there. I used some alcohol and elbow grease to get the adhesive off. Definitly looks a lot better. I wish I would've done this a long time ago. I'll post some pics tomorrow.

I looked on my car yesterday cuz I didn't know what you guys were talking about. I looked and looked. I think someone had already taken them off before I even had possession of the car so I don't even know what it looks like.
So, ya, looks great!!! (I think)

Yeah its a dealer option, mine came with it, and now its gone

If anyone looks on the window sticker they'll see it was one of the two options on my car, and both are LONG GONE.

(options on mine were Monsoon stereo + Moulding)

Just so some people aren't surprised/pissed afterwards, I did have issues when I removed mine last year. There were some markings left on the paint/clear where the adhesive used to be. If I don't tell you I have them you wouldn't notice, but they are there. One side is worse than the other, almost looks as though the clear is flaking off around what would have been the outer edge of the adhesive. The less noticable side looks like a thin, hazed area in the clear. I don't want to scare people away from doing it, as it does look much better and is easier to clean, but I felt it would be good to let people know that it isn't without a bit of risk.
