Since when do you have to have a 13sec or faster car to make it look good? Your quarter mile time has nothing to do with how good your car looks. Speed and style are two totally different aspects of a car. If he wants to make it look good and doesn't care about how fast it goes, then what's the problem? It's not like he's trying to pass off as a T/A, and it's certainly no different than a V6 Camaro owner putting a SS hood and spoiler on, and IMO no different than putting any other body kit on.

Besides, the majority of everyday people wouldn't be able to tell the difference between the T/A front clip and the Firebird front clip. They'd just know that it looks good...

Not to sidetrack from the original poster but for you guys who have installed a TA spoiler on your firebird...

To use a the original TA wing, do you have to absolutely 100% have to buy the entire hatch? (Entire hatch meaning "Wing" plus "Glass") Some guy on Ebay is selling only the wing from a 98 TA; no glass. I emailed him and he said it bolts on. I was looking at my stock Firebird hatch tonight and I didn't see any bolts, it looks perminantly glued on to the glass or something. Here's the link..

he guy is lying to you. you HAVE to buy the entire hatch. glass, wing, deck and all.

if you try and mount it on the firebird/formula 'wing' you will be the laughing stock of the fbody community.

i have swapped hatches, its not that hard. i did a write up on it a while back. do a search and youll find it.

I would never try to mount a trans-Am wing on top of my regular firebird wing lol that would be pretty embarassing. Did you see the picture of the guy selling just the TA Wing (with no glass)? He said his TA wing simply "unbolted" from the glass.

After reading the info on your swap and looking again at the picture of that guys TA Wing on EBay...He's only selling the 'wing' and not the bottom decklid part. What a joke for him to say it can bolt on a Firebird.

Why does everyone give **** to people who want t/a front bumpers, its a appearance mod and most people would notice a t/a spoiler before a bumper. As Long as t/a stickers dont come near it and even if they do who cares its his car, Just makes no sense to hear "yeah get a t/a spoiler but not the bumper or youll be a ricer" sound likes a bunch of horse **** to me. I love the T/A spoiler, if I have a V6 bird or formula, thats the first appearance mod i would do. I wouldn't change the front bumper but I'm not gonna look down on someone b/c they so, just don't rebadge it! Might wanna look for a rear bumper esp if you have exhaust b/c its got the 2 cutouts...looks nice... Eventually I want an SS hood and spoiler, is that so bad? (no SS emblems though...)

one day i want to get the front bumper AND rear spoiler of a T/A but im going to have add some 3800 decals on the doors/rear maybe not sure exactly where... MAYBE in my wetsanded rear filler panel! hmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmmm that might be awesome. then ill have a decal for the "west coast sinister six" so everyone will know that its a six.........just a friggin awesome lookin one! and one day, turbos......

dude go for the bumper and the spoiler i have a ta spoiler on mine look in my profiel and on my homepage. who cares about the front bumper anyway i have the firebird bumper adn people still call mine a trans am ( pisses me off) but thats beside the point. some people cant even tell you the difference between a ta and firebird or a formula. im gonna go with its your car do what you like.

wow, i always kinda thought the SLP H.O. hood didn't look very good. i've seen it on a few different cars and didn't really like it, but damn that really looks awesome!
