Got some Niteshades blackout paint, and went to town on my taillights. I did about 7-8 coats a couple days ago, then added two more today, along with 3 coats of clear-coat gloss to make 'em a little shiny.
The inspiration for this came from my computer. I was screwing around with some pics of my car, and blacked out the brake lights and turn signals, leaving the white reverse lights intact. It looked very good, IMO. So, i picked up the Niteshades, and got to work.
first of all, the car looks a lot better now. The black contrasts nicely with the silver body. The white reverse lens goes nicely with the black lenses.
second, there are no problems with light output. The lights are still bright enough to be seen in the daytime, both brake and turn signal lights. so i won't be getting hounded by the cops for not being able to see the lights. Oh, and there's still enough red and yellow left in the lights that the cops can't get me for it being all black, either.
I'll get some pics up later, after i find my damn camera.
