Trying out Meguiar's NXT Tech Wax

Okay, if the weather holds out I'll be able to wash, clay bar and wax my car today with the new Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax. We'll see how it turns out. Unfortunately I'll have to use the Neon as the test mule because the Mrs and I have to go on a 2000 mile trip, and I have to get that car ready for it. I'll take pictures of before/after when I get back from the trip (don't worry, it'll be of the 'Maro) [img]tongue.gif[/img]

It smells awesome too! I used it awhile ago and liked the results, gave it a pretty nice shine and will probably become my normal wax from now on. Came with the cool applicator pad also...

Okay, just got done, and here's why it took so long: Clay bar (Mothers) then Meguiar's Scratch-X (It's an outside car, almost all the time so it's pretty abused unfortunately with the neighbors slamming car doors into my vehicle, Grrrrr:rant:) and then Meguiar's NXT Generation Tech Wax. One thing I've noticed with all of these products - they all smelled great! The Mothers quick detailing wax smelled like Hot Damn or cinammon red hots (depending on who you asked, I thought it smelled like the spirits, the Mrs thought it smelled like the candly, lol).

It was evening by the time I got the garage cleaned out enough to put the car in there, still quite a squeeze! lmao! The car looks almost white under the light in the garage, and has a wonderful shine to it. It didn't even look this nice from the dealership! I'll tell you what though, with the clay and the scratch-x combo, the paint was perfectly smooth! I'm sure that with more layers of the Tech Wax, it'll be perfect. At least the hard part is over, now it's time to change the oil, filter and spark plugs... [img]graemlins/slap.gif[/img]

OK, I know this is late, and I don't have the pics yet, but I think I know exactly how I'm going to do my detailing from now on.

1. Wash
2. Clay
3. Paint cleaner (Meguiars Deep Crystal)
4. Polish (Meguiars Deep Crystal)
5. Meguiars NXT Generation Tech Wax (2 coats, 2nd one 12 hrs after 1st)
6. Upkeep with Booster Wax

I did all this (with the exeption of the booster wax) and the car looked WET! I'll probably do it again on my next 3-day break and get some good pics.

Edit: Yes, this was on the Camaro.

Had it, Not a big fan of it. I like WolfGang polish better than Zaino or anything else I've tried. (Liqud Glass, meguiar's, Eagle one WET). The NXT you have to leave on for over 15 minutes for it to get a shine. If Florida it just bakes on after 15 minutes. Go for WolfGang over NXT

WolfGang is awesome stuff from what I read on www.ls1tech.com and www.autopia.com If you read both of those sites you'll see that Zanio isnt all its talked up to be.

Most people aren't willing to spend the cash to get WolfGang or other off shelf products, which case the NXT is a decent choice. [img]smile.gif[/img]

NXT is about 10-15 bucks in store. Wolfgang is about 17 bucks. If you buy Liquid Glass which is around 15-18 bucks, you are spending the same. NXT doesn't even rate in my top 5 polishes. I don't use a wax because in the Fla Sun carnuba doesn't last long at all. Polishes are the way to go. Go to the link below, that is the best polish/sealant out there
