• My camaro ( new member)

Hi, everyone, im new here, has my camaro for about half a year or so, but feels so long. I have posted technical questions and such, and forgot to introduce my self. My name is Corbin Welter, i live in tampa, florida. Im 16, turnin 17 soon! If anybody knows when there are any camaro get togethers around tampa, i would be glad to join in.

OK now about my baby. Shes a 1998 v6, pretty much stock right now, but i have high expectations for her soon. I did the free ram air mod, removed MAF screen and thats pretty much it. I love my camaro to death and would never sell her, i was going to buy a z28, but found this really cool site, and relized a v6 would be just as cool to own.

i have the SLP loudmouth exhaust on its way probably, and im thinking about buying some 17 inch cragar ss rims, do you guys think 17 by 9.5 all the way around is good looking?

over this summer, i have planned to strip out rear seats and most interior that is not needed, im a high school student that doesnt really need much to please me, i would rather have a quick cool car

i have no idea how to post pictures on here, sorry, ill add some tomorrow possibly when i figure out how

I love that color. It's a gorgeous car and there's TONS that can be done with it (I'm 17 myself).

However, many of the board members hate "fake badgers"...so...dont be too offended if thet start giving you a hard time...feel free to send me an AIM anytime : Marginal Disaster

Nice car, exact same color as mine. Good idea to remove the pinstripes. I did that to mine as well. I'd feel really embarassed if I had Z-28 emblems on my car and someone walked up to me and said "You've got a Z28?" and I told them "No, not really. It's just a six." Check out the pics on my site. You can get 3800 decals that look just like the Z28 emblems. I really like the look of them. As far as the wheels go, I personally like the look of the SS and Z06 wheels. Bottom line: It's your car, do what you think looks best on it.

Don't worry about the age thing. There's plenty of teens and guys in the low 20s, myself included.

Interesting theory,,,that's pretty much contradicting yourself though..Here's what I see..

You were going to buy a Z28, but found out you couldn't afford one, and realized a v6 was more affordable to own.

And many people know it's fake and are laughing at you. Why would you add those?? ESPECIALLY since you have the single turn down exhaust. Everyone knows it's a V6. And since you said getting a V6 was 'cooler', why pretend you have a Z28?

                  ...

With that said..Welcome to the board. :D

I would rather have a highly modded six and have 3800 decals on it and let everyone know its a six then show them what a six can do. By the way i just turned 18.

Car looks great not a fan of the badges but to each there own...

I have 17X9.5 zr1s on all 4 corners with 275/40/17 tires, and I like em... also were not that expensive. I got mine $400 for a full set used, and got my tires off tirerack.com

Also check out the florida section at the bottom of the page we have a Florida v6 meet planned in July.

for one thing, its better to have a car that u know u can have more support with, and most of my friends have 3800s. The v8 wasnt a price issue considering my parents bought my car, but i considered the v6 for gas mileage and insurance purposes later on in life when i really have to pay for it. Like i said, i dont care what people think of me or my car, its what i like, and if they belive im pretending its a z28, then i am to them if it makes them feel better about them selves for picking on a 16 year old over a piece of plastic that says z28. I also said i am ordering the slp loud mouth exhaust, so no single down pipe anymore.

so if your going to contradict what i like, please keep it to your self

Nice....I'm 16 and I've had my black 98' for about the same length of time, just thought it all very ironic...anyway I've got to agree with everyone on the badges and such, I've got dual rectangle tips off a z28 but other than that I'm enhancing the "6" look by getting chrome versions of the rims that are on it now...which by the way I've saved $973 so far and willing to buy if anyone can tell me where to get them!!! ::hints see me other post:: Anyway enough for the spam, great car, great color, snatch those badges...
