hey all, i was washing my car today after work (nice and sunny about 75 degrees out, in a shady part near the garage with the soft water filter for my hose aaahhhhhh.......) washed her for about an hour and a half with interior detailing and everying, i used some dishwasher soap to get off that damn sap crap that the trees at savemart drop all over the place when i go to meet my gf for lunch each day... ANYway sorry to get off topic but when i was using that soap i found out that the spoiler that holds like 2 gallons of water, CAN ACTUALLY BE USED FOR AN EASY ACCESS SOAP DISH!! i just poured all of my sudsy stuff there and it made it nicer than bending over to get the soapy out of the bowl everytime....may be helpful to someone while washing, makes it not too bad, ALSO when you are drying, i recommend getting all of the water off and out of the hatch part because the way its designed, is the water runs down the sides of the hatch and into those little gutters and then it drips out of the bottom of the tailights, i hate the way they drip all the time but i found out that the water source is from the spoiler! running down through a maze type path and out the tailights....anyways this post is getting way too long for something that isnt really all that important so ill end it here.

using dishwasher soap is the stupidest thing u could do to wash ur car. go to ur local kragen or autozone (if u have them where u live) and get real car wash soap

Unless you are using it to purposely strip the wax to the paint to prepare for a claybaring and Zaino...

and in that case Dawn works best

Dish soap is meant for the dishes. Go out and buy some car soap. Go read the info off the zaino site for some good tips.

the owner's manual actually recommends dish soap. not a whole lot though, about 2-3 drops for one bucket of water. works fine for me, and no problems.

i hate it when ppl cry nonsense to me, ive been using dishsoap for a while now and my cars paint isnt falling off, dont be so quick to call someone a moron based on what you've heard is true, unless all of you have used dishsoap before and have had your paint die.....

I think what they are saying is that it will strip your wax. That is all. They aren't trying to tell you your clear coat is gonna disentegrate.

dishsoap is fine if your planning on rewaxing your car that same day. using it though and then leaving your car unprotected is a definite no no.

and hawk is correct, only a couple drops in a big bucket is all you need.
