I was thinking about painting my brake calipers but I wanted to know how hard it is. What are all the steps of doing this? I also wanted to put those Camaro letters on there. Does anyone know where I could pick some of those up?
This is how Im going to do it. In black with silver letters.. Any help?
First you have to sand them down really well. i have a sandblaster i used on the drums, and i just sanded down the calipers really well. I got some high temp paint. the paint i got was actually bar-b-q pit paint. It was about 1000 degree paint. i applied about 4 coats of that. Then i got some clear coat engine 800 degree paint. I put 2 coats of that over the black.
^^^pictures arent the best....^^^
I didnt get any decals, but i was sort of thinking about it. I did a search on where to find some... heres what i found.

These are my rims. Do you all think that the black Calipers with the Silver letters would look good? Would you be able to read CAMARO or would it be cut off by a spoke? Anyone know?

i think black with the silver decals would look great. Make sure to use lots of clear.
I used a wire brush and cleaned them off really good and then wiped the off with a towel. I painted mine black and I got the silver letters on mine. Turned out better than I thought it would. Good luck.
