  • How would this look?

I originally wanted turn-down tailpipes because I like the stock look, but I ran across these online. They are the late 70's, early 80's Trans Am style turndowns. I think they might dress up the car a little but am not sure if they will look awkward. I have a stock car (no ground effects or anything). I would have the tips set so that if you were to look at the car from the side you wouldn't see the pipe leading up to the tips, just maybe a little of the part where the turn-down meets the upper piece. I wouldn't have the tips going out farther than the bumper either. They would be in a little bit. If I can find a good picture of the side of a Camaro I will try to throw the pic in paint and show you how I would have them. My car is the polo metallic green by the way, so I think the crome would go good with the paint.

    Thanks for any comments guys.

Copy and paste the link below in a new browser, if it says that I passed my rate limit, sorry, geocities only allows 5MB of transfer per hour, so if the pic is unavailable just try again later. Thanks.

well...i do like the tips...i'm just unsure of how they'll look on your car. to me, they're more of a retro style tip, for older muscle, not new. But id have to see them on the car to get the full effect. i'd say go with straight, slant-cut tips. those tend to look the best.

Ok, I know that people still might not like it, although I do think it would be unique and really different.

Here is a photoshopped(well just a little work in paint) pic of what it might look like. This is not my Camaro, I just found it on cardomain. Mine is green. http://www.geocities.com/jaymatic/wh..._turndowns.JPG

As in my first post, because it is a geocities site, you must copy and paste the link into a new webbrowser.

Here is where the tips were originally used:

I wasn't so sure how it would look on such a short rear, but the Trans Am's did it with their short rears. Just an idea, but I think I am starting to like it more the more I picture how it might look.
