I was wondering if it is possible to swap hoods on the non Ram Air LS1's and essentially make it a Ram Air model? I'm thinking about getting one and I want the whole Ram Air package but found a deal on a non Ram Air model. Will I still get a performance gain or just looks? Thanx for your input

There isn't any power difference between a 'regular' Trans Am and a WS6. Same thing between a Z28 and SS.
The hood is just for looks, you have to be going faster than most cars can go for the Ram Air to really be that effective.

Didn't want 2 start a new topic but what are everybody's opinions on a convertinle LS1. Is the cabin loud when moving at higher speeds? How are all the seals on it? (Can water get through easily?) Is visibility out the back horrible? How easy is it to maintain a convertible? Is it heavier than a hard top or t-top? Is it still a hatchback or does it have it's own little unreachable(from the back seats i mean) trunk? Sorry so many questions but i found a good deal and i want to follow up on it if a convertible doesn't prove to be hassle. Thanx
