• Lets talk hoods....

Ok I need to get a new hood. The paint on mine is shot, and If I am going to repaint the hood, I might as well buy a better one...

I need opinions - SS style or Cowl Induction... (Not 4" maybe 2 or 3 inch..)
I have a 1997 Camaro, I will be painting Viper Blue soon...

I need to find the cheapest place to get one...
TIA...

i just got a new hood. ordered it from www.fiberglassfabricatorsinc.com and it took about 2-3 weeks to get it. i got the z-rock, which is like an SS but with a larger scoop. its shipped a non-functional hood, but the shop im having it painted is cutting it and adhesing some wire mesh to make it functional. hood was $25 shipped. they also sell the double vision hood... but i dont think it looks as good on a camaro as it does on a firebird. check out their site... good people to order from.

Well, since you got a white car also feel free to check out my site with a couple angles of my 3" hood. Its the one from american sports car design, but I bought it used from someone else.

I'd just get the SS hood man, thats what I got and im doing something similar to you painting my car not a viper blue but something similar this summer. SS style hood you'd be able to hook a ram air kit up to it, I think too big of a cowl hood doesn't go with the car, as for the ram air 2 hood, it is a sweet hood but only on firebirds and 98+camaros. Can't go wrong with the SS man.

I've always liked the look of the Ultra-Z hood from SLP.

Maybe this link will help!

whats the price range anyway??? i mean, i looked at the ultra-z from SLP and was like holy s#it. same as rksport hoods, way too much money. cowls are usually cheap, SS hoods look great, double vision on a camaro ... ehh
