I just received Anniversary Striping kit from RK sport or as they call it "bad attitude stripes".
Anyway, just wondering if anybody has this and do they have any problems with it like peeling or fading. Also, is it a good idea to wax the stripes or just wax around it. Thanks.
Hey Pickle, Where you from in PA? I want buy the Bad Attitude Stripes myself, but I'd REALLY like to see how the installation goes. Reading the instructions is one thing, seeing is another (for me). If you're near Philly, let me know.
Hey Marc, I'm from the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton area (home of the Wilkes-Barre/Scranton Penguins!). Their arena is five-miles from my house! Anyway, the striping kit seems kinda' big. Long would be better a way to describe it. It would take more than one person to install it correctly. I think you just have to wash the car and then apply the stripes and supposedly they adhere when the car is still wet. I know this guy who works out of his house and installs striping on race cars and vehicles like that. I think I might bring it to him, when the weather warms up.
Steve aka Pickle
Cool Steve, Thanx. I travel up to Scranton from mid April (opening Trout Day) to late August. I have relaives at Lake Winola in Factoryville. Email me when you are thinking about doing this later, and maybe I can meet you up there, as long as you don't mind. Maybe I could get some pointers on how well this project will go if I do it myself.
Eitherway, please post the install in full description when you are done.
I've got the stripes installed on my car. They are extremely long and your going to want someone to help you with them so you dont get any air bubbles. As far as them fading and wearing off i havent had any problem with it. They do look bada$$ though.
Good luck

DEFFINATLEY GET THE RKSPORT kit!!! I have a Silver 2000 Camaro and i have the Black racing stripes. My car is a coupe and a painted roof and with the black all the way back they look BAD A$$.
i get so many compliments on them. You will need another person to help put them on. As soon as i get pics i'll put them up. Use masking tape to get the basic area theat you want them to go into then fit them in. Use lots of soapy water. about 2or 3 drops of dawn works good. uses a bondo scraper to get the air bubbles out. and be careful. The Stripes like to stick to the wax paper they are attached to so use a blow dryer to heat them up a bit. not to much though. just enough to get them warm. This should help a little. Hope you like the stripes. I love them. :D
Oh yeah don't do this in the sun. It will heat the stripes up to much and it will burn off the soap then they are stuck there. They won't fade and you can wax over them. Just don't use a buffer. it will scratch them . and make sure you don't use anything to abbrasive on them. They will scratch but not that easily. Sorry the two posts are long.
i put these on myself and didnt have a problem...just make sure you get them good and wet...i used some baby shampoo and water to put mine on..then just squegee the water out and your set.
