• question for you 255/50 guys

can you guys post pics of your stock rims in 255/50 tires, or tell me if there are pics in your sig? im curious as to how they look, worried it will be too much tire .

All of the pics in my sig have the 255's on them. Here are a couple others too

Those are some cheaper tires which have a weaker sidewall so there is more bulge. I have Kuhmo's on the front now and theres almost no bulge.

My first set of 255's were the PepBoys "Futura" brand, and they bulged out more than my Kumho's that I have on my car now. The 255/50 Kumho 712's look awesome on the 16" rim.

They were/are Phantom radials and the only name I could find on them were fisk. So I'm assuming thats the brand. When I blew one on the highway and ripped it apart discount said they were on back order from michilen. So I got the kumhos for like $8 more a tire. I love the tread on the phantoms and the sidewalls make them look wider (I think they are actually wider too) and they aren't bad tires, just a weak sidewall so they don't bite the corners as hard.

They aren't to bad in rain, kept decent control if you hit a large puddle. As far as snow, I honestly don't see how much better my car could get in the snow from tires. But they performed somewhat close to the 235/55 BFG's that came stock on the car.
