errrr... flame t-H-rower? If that's what you mean the only reason I could think of not doing it is burning the bumper... I always thought they were cool as ****.

So if you'd like to foul your spark plugs, wreck your catalytic converter and burn off your rear bumper, then you could buy this kit I guess. I don't know about you guys, but I kinda like the having all 6 plugs working and my rear bumper not a melted mess...haha. I think the idea is the coolest, just not practical....

Did'nt someone post a video or something showing a guy light up the whole rear of his Camaro trying to get one of those kits to work?

I think your asking for trouble by mixing fire with plastic.

i was gonna do this still might, who wants to buy me the kit and ill try it out for everyone? i was told it would have to be the kind where u inject fuel into the pipe to get the flame..oh and here might be the only problem

"My car has a catalytic converter, does this matter?
If a catalytic converter is installed on your vehicle to burn off excess fuel before it leaves the exhaust system, this may reduce the size of the exhaust flames because exhaust flame throwers rely on unburnt fuel. If you are looking to significantly improve or boost your exhaust flames, you can remove the converter (check local ordinances) or wait for its effectiveness to diminish."

                      and this

Q: Will the Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. kit work on E.F.I. (electronic fuel injection) cars, trucks, or motorcycles ?

A: Yes and no. It will work on almost any E.F.I. car, truck, or motorcycle without a catalytic converter provided it does not have 4 or 6 cylinder engine ( motorcycles are exempt from this, but still can't have a catalytic converter). Cars or trucks with E.F.I. need to have an 8 cylinder engine or bigger to shoot flames. If you have an E.F.I. 4 or 6 cylinder engine with a turbo, N.O.S. , or major engine horsepower modifications the kit will work. If your car will not shoot flames using this basic kit you can still have some options ( see Hot Licks Exhaust Inc. Mega kit/plans on the Flame Kits page). Catalytic converters burn off gasses the motor doesn't burn therefore there is nothing to burn at the end of the tailpipes. You can remove the catalytic converter if you have one, but I do not recommend this as there are laws in every state that require you to have a properly working catalytic converter on your vehicle. There are fines for not meeting these laws.

                        a few things:
1- I dont know if our cars may be made to run rich enough for there to be enough unburnt fuel to ignite into flames.
2- NOS or a supercharger or any other fuel management which boosts your fuel pressure may solve this problem
3- Catalytic converter and EGR work to rid the exhaust of this unburnt fuel... again, I don't think there is enough fuel in the exhaust to ignite.
4- If you do ignite flames, the rear of our car is plastic... I hate the smell of burning plastic

I would think that it wouldn't burn the bumper if you didn't do it too much. The problem is I would be making my exhaust flame all the time :D

I contacted a company once about this too... They said it wouldn't work b/c of the cat... how it works is, you put a spark plug in your exhaust pipe near the end, and connect it to a seperate coil that makes it spark when you flip the switch... the problem is w/ E.F.I cars alot of the time you don't get alot of unburned fuel in your exhaust so there's not much to ignite. And you could get around burning your bumper by putting on longer tips that come out a couple inches from the bumper.

well to solve all your problems....use propane, no fouling of plugs, you keep your cat blablabla...nothing to it, seen it done a bunch of times.
