hey i've seen a couple guys that have put their boost guages and such in their ac vents. i was wondering if i would have to block off the back behind the guage after i put it in or if i can just use the guage to block off the vent. also, how do i take the vents out, i cant figure it out yet and i dont feal like taking apart my dash if i dont have too.

The vents just pop out. Kinda.
You need to be careful when removing them so as not to snap any bits of them.
Failing that, pop out the stereo, then you can gain access to the bottom of the air duct that feeds the vents. Pull the front of it down with one hand and slip the other hand through the gap.
You should then be able to push on the vents from behind.
It's how I got mine out so I could install a custom unit.96 Teal Firebird
Colchester, Essex, UK
www.centrestage.free-online.co.uk

all ya gotta do as far as blocking off the vent is get a gauge plate.. summitracing.com has them (you may have to trim them for your specific app) ..they're pretty cheap and will make it look nice...i was looking at them because i have the dual a-pillar pod and wanted to add a fuel psi and air/fuel ratio gauge in the driver's side center vent12 SECOND DUAL STAGE DRY NITROUS POWERED 98 A4 V6 CAMARO
www.MySickCamaro.50megs.com
Best ET: 12.82@103
Best MPH: 104.7
Best 60\': 1.75 - Stock TC

quote:
Originally posted by Shodown:
1DV6 runs 12\'s...enough said.

yeah im probably just gonna use up all three of the center vents with boost, fuel psi, and a/f guages. i only need the one vent per side for AC. i really just dont like the look of guage pods and i think this will look pretty cool if i get some decent guages.2001 Arctic White Firebird With Black Drop Top

3:42 Gears
Zexel LSD
BMR upper A-Arms
Trans Am exhaust with 3\" I-pipe and cutout
Modified intake
Mecham Hood
Trans Go shift kit
Making rear control arms and panhard
