  • Well i lost a t-top, anyone know where i can get a new one?

On the way home from work tonight, i started hearing this really weird noise. so i turned the radio look up and whoosh out goes my freaking t-top! it went up about 15 feet and shattered everywhere. so does anyone know where i can find a new driver side one? i seen them on ebay but there like $150 + $35 shipping. does anyone know anywhere else to get one? anyone know where i can get an oem one? my mom thinks i should turn it in to the insurance but, i think there just going to be like tuff sh!t. thanks in advance. oh yeah and i need this quick its like20 degrees out!

jerriko was selling one on ebay, not sure if the bidding is up or not, I think it is though. Maybe check ebay though for another one or go to the v8 forums and get ahold of someone parting a car out. There are always people parting out cars there.

Sorry for being naive... but how the hell does that happen? Did you forget to turn the handle down on the t-top panel???

There are adjustment things for the ttops and sometimes those will get loose and therefore the ttop is loose, as you are driving wind will lift the ttop off the car. I have heard of this before and that's why I make sure the adjustment things are tight about 1-2 times a year. Usually in the spring and late summer I check it.

yulp pretty much. my own stupidity. i took them out yesterday to clean them and i guess i forgot to lock the one. i took it off set it ontop of the other one, put it back. then put the pass side on top of the drive side and then put it back. its one of those things you can kick youself in the a$$ for!

I've heard of several of thise things happening. People usualy forget ot turn the handle completely closed.

I don't know what you are talking about 97rs4life - I've had my tops in and out hundreds of times and have never made any adjustments at all. The handle turned completely shut locks it - no ifs, ands or buts.

Mine has an adjustment thingie. There's this little hole that I can put this small key that came with my car into. I can turn it 90 degrees. Still haven't figured out what it's for though... :D

I did have one but it has sold. I plan on getting another 4th soon but I am not sure if you can wait that long. If you have full coverage, I would turn it into insurance.
