check with your insurance company..it should be covered under comprehensive and you most likely have full glass coverage..i broke one once..i had full glass coverage with my comprehensive and the insurance company just wrote me a check for a new one..definitely check before buying

            All t-tops are oem...

To my knowledge no one makes another type all the ones on ebay are from parted out cars or junkyards or whatever.

There are 2 style t-tops, a older dot Matrix style and a newer tinted one.

YOu can get them on ebay, an ok price is ~$150+shipping. If you hunt you can get them cheaper, I got one for $75, and another for $35. But that was weeks of skimming the net since I didn't "need" them. And a set of 2 for $170.

Also go on every single message board that is f-body related. People are parting out cars left and right from v6 to v8s, etc... You will find them.

If you find a really good deal and on a dot matrix one I suggest picking it up, and then later find a good deal on a normal one and buy it to put in, then resell the dot matrix one.

Its very common, several reasons why people lose t-tops, not locked, spirited driving, and passenger thinks its an "O-****" handle, left open, or someone didn't have it lined up right when they tightened it down, they bent the reciever(very easy to do).

I had a spare set of t-tops left over from the conversion since they were a good deal to buy, I just held onto them, until local people lost theres and resold them. Only took me 2 months Made money off of both of them.

For what its worth, I have heard dealership charging $400ish, and junkyards since they know its a "I NEED NOW" product I have heard from $250-350 at junkyards.

Also keep your old smashed t-top, just incase you get one with a different shade of interio trim plastic, and you can also swap out the cam lock very very very easily, so you can still use YOUR key to open it.

Not sure what your insurance deductable is but honestly I think this is something worth not hitting insurance up for, its not too difficult to get one, and not too bad to ship like $17-30ish, UPS ground.

Dude you don't need an oem t-top. Worst thing that happens is the linkage gets a little dirty, cleans up quickly and works great.

Its like saying I don't want a junkyard shifter knob has to be oem.

You'll regret making an insurance claim later on. I suggest only making claims as small as these if you abosolutely cannot afford it. YOur gonna have a ~$400 claim on your insurance history.

to save $50 on not buying one flat out. Might jack your rates up later on, ~$10 a month= $360 over 3 years.

I bought 4 t-tops in the last 8 months, every single one of them was a little dusty, I cleaned them up, cleaned up the pin assembly, total of 20 min worth of work while watching TV and they were all in PRESTINE condition.

wow why in the world would you need 4 ttops in 8 months? Do you just toss them in the garage each time you take them off?

I was buying up parts for a conversion, when I saw a good deal on parts I bought them, to resell. 2 of the tops went on my car when I cut in the t-tops, and other 2 have been sold for a profit(still being cheap on the price compared to average sellers online) to locals who lost t-tops.

The only time my tops have ever been locked is when I park it at the airport during flights.
