Its greatest advantage other than looks is the fact that you can park in a tighter space. no you have to reinforce it because it was not designed to operate at those angles, when I say glass I mean fiberglass, and no the window frame doesnt really have anything to do with it, its just alot of weight not being used as designed Im sure it would work fine for a little bit, but stress cracks on the door are bound to happen.

I am 100% on the fiberglass, my door was ripped from my car a few weeks ago, its fiberglass unless steel breaks up in little fibers all over the ground like someone cut my hair. The inside is metal where the window motor is riveted but the exterior is all fiberglass. Def. fiberglass...When I ripped apart my donor car up in connecticut i just broke the interior door handles off the door.
