  • Pics... new billet grill

well, got it today, installed it after work.. it was dark so i only took a couple pictures one before, one after.. both of those with long exposure so no flash...

then i took one with the flash to show the fact that i did not paint behind the grill

i figured i can always take off the grill and paint back there later if i feel the need to, but i wanted to get the thing on asap to see how it looked

what do you think? should i paint behind the grill with semi-gloss black like it recommends in the instructions?

i dont know how exactly i would go about it, it says to run a line of 1/8" tape around the inside perimeter of the cavity whatever that means

... i'm sure you could fabricate some way of doing it.. it wouldnt look very good though.. probably wouldnt be easy either..

i made the decision to risk getting caught with no front plate.. it looks so much better without the front plate anyway

Wasn't there someone a few months back that did something similar, except he put his plate behind the grill. So when going down the street it can be seen from a distance, but if you're at a show of something and someone is walking around your car you can't see it when standing right up next to the car. It's definitely how I'm planning on doing mine when I get one

yeah i remember that too.. but you know what? i really dont thing that would be acceptable to any cop that may pull you over..
i dont think there can be any obstructions ... probably differs by state though

.. the old one is sitting in my basement, license plate still attached...

while taking it off, i think the nuts or whatever else was holding it on from the other side, fell into the front fascia in an impossible to retreive location, and by now have maneuvered their way out and are long gone, so i dont know how you would secure the thing to the car

and looking at pictures of your car, looks like you already have the same grill as my old one.. why would you want mine?
