  • clay bar ?

    this may sound stupid but what is the proper way to use a clay bar. i have a spot that needs to be buffed on the fender and someone told me to wash the car then use the clay, rub it on the car and the stuff should remove. well it didnt work, do i need something else with it? i have the mothers brand

    I do it while I'm washing the car. Like when its all wet and stuff, usually takes off everything I can see..

      You just spray the area with the clay lube (or you can also use a water/car wash mixture) and rub the clay back and forth over that spot. But don't let the spot dry up or you'll get streaks. Keep it lubricated. It should be very very slick when you're done. Try using it on windows too.

        I just killed a spot like that on the hood of my car.
        Washed it, used Mother Spot Detailer, ran the claybar over it a few times, then applied a few coats of zymol car wax and BLAMMO, the spot was gone.
        Of course I had to clean the whole car after that....
