• Revised wash techniques...

Here is a compilation of both my personal experience and the words of other on all sorts of boards. This is a really thourough wash cycle and is designed for prevention/lessening the appearance of swirl marks. Hope this helps!

1. - Equip -
Grab a clean set of washing supplies, including:
Bucket for Soap
Bucket for Rinse
Wash Mitt
Sponge
Scrub Brush
Drying Towels/Water Blade
Weather Stripping/Tire Dressings

2. - Rinse -
Lightly rinse the car with a gentle mist or shower setting on your nozzle.

3. - Wash -
A.) Soak the wash mitt in the soapy water and gently wash the surface in straight lines.
Flip the wash mitt over half way through to lessen the chances of scratching.
Cleanse the wash mitt in the rinse bucket and then soak it in the soap bucket.
B.) Rinse the soap off of the paint with the hose and repeat "Step 3A" on the next area until the entire car has been washed.
C.) Use the scrub brush soaked in soap on lower parts of the car that may need extra help.
Cleanse the scrub brush in the rinse bucket after each area.
D.) Soak the sponge in the soap bucket and scrub the wheels clean.
Cleanse the sponge in the rinse bucket after each wheel.

4. - Rinse -
A.) Do a final rinse of the vehicle to keep it hydrated for the drying process.

5. - Dry -
A.) If using a micro fiber drying towel or a chamois,
Drag the towel in a linear pattern over the area to soak up water.
Wring it out when it has absorbed enough water.
B.) If using a water blade,
Run the blade parallel to the cars surface to squeegee water off.
Wipe the blade on a clean cloth to remove any dirt or debris after each pass.
Only run the blade across a clean, wet surface.
C.) If using 100% cotton towels,
Blot the area (don't rub) to soak up the water.

6. - Protect -
A.) Apply a wax on the car either by hand or by machine.
This will help protect the wax from the elements.
Once the wax dries, use a buffing cloth to remove the hazed residue.
B.) Apply any dressings you want to the tires and weather stripping to finish the job.
C.) Enjoy your immaculate car and take some pictures.

Step: 2.) Put hands under water
Step: 3.) wash excriment off
Step: 4.) shake dry (if using towels, blot)

I swear, the posts on this site keep getting more and more pathetic. If you don't know how to wash you're damn car, then you need to stick to riding the short bus.

Pathetic...? Maybe. But someone~somewhere is going to ask the question "how do you wash your car?" sometime along the line here. Even though it may seem like a worthless post, we can at least point that person in the right direction by doing a "search" instaed of putting them down or typing all kinds of suggestions...or both!

To clear things up,
I'm not knocking anyone, I'm just making a suggestion. There are LOTS of worthless post's here on this board, and most can be cleared up by doing a search. Trust me!!!< I have made quite a few worthless post's within my membership here, but I'm a better person because of it and I don't drink heavily anymore because of it. ;) :D

if you need to ask how to wash your car in general, stick to my idea a few posts up.
