• 93-96 tail light conversion on a 97+ camaro

    Yeah I finished it never put up pics though... Some like it some hate it, but I don't give a rats a$$ I like it Never liked amber on NBM, and the older lights follow the lines of the car so much better.

    Before pics...(for those that have never seen a stock NBM Camaro before ;) )

    And here are after pics.

    And here is a pic at night after I rewired them. I have it wired so the full light is on. Turn sign, and brake still work the same as usual.

    Simple and easy cost me like $25 and took less then 20 minutes to do rewiring to how I wanted it and all.

    You don't even have to rewire if you don't want to.

    Looks good.
    Must admit, I don't like the Amber either.
    Unfortunately, Amber turn signals are a legal requirement here in the UK.

    Mind you, I still run with US Spec lighting on my Bird. (Although, I can switch to UK spec at the touch of a button if the boys in blue are behind me - Additional bulbs in the Backup lights ;) )

        now people are going to keep asking what year it is... a 93-96 with front end conversion, or 98+ with taillights switched.

        there's a red camaro here, 93-96 wheels (salad shooters) and it has the 97+ taillights. i keep waiting to catch him at the gas station or something so i can ask. every time i see it, it drives me crazy lol.

              The car still looks good, but I think it looked better before. Looks like you did a good job on the conversion though.

                  hehe you did the conversion too? I was inspired by Dark Angel over at cz28.com, cuz I nut over his gunmetal gray z28 all the time.

                  how did you wire the lights I did mine different them.

                  I left the turn signal and brake the same, but I jumped the "running light" so the turnsignal is on "dim" mode when the headlights are on.

                  As for the amber on the taillights, I didn't like them the first day I noticed they were different when my dad got this car. It doesn't look right

                    </font>
exactly what I did....did you have to buy a new socket to get that 3rd lead, or did you just shove a wire into the original one?...I had to go with a ford socket since the autoparts store was out of 3157 sockets....

                      </font>
nope did what darkangel at cz28.com did, just trimmed one of the slots a little bigger and they fit just fine. I think he used a dremel, I used wire cutters
