  • pictures of painted drums?

ok i just painted my calipers red today and it looks awesome, but i am wondering about what color to paint the drums. At first i was going to paint them red as well but i changed my mind and bought black paint to do them with, but im still not sure. does anyone have any pictures of their painted drums?

Ive seen rear drums painted red and white and they look nasty. I guess the only way you can maybe have them look good is if you straight sand them down and prime them and then paint them then some clear.

But even then the paint wont last long.

that doesn't look as bad b/c it kinda matches the disc brakes. i'd just go w/ black so your rear drums don't stand out. trust me, i've seen imports that painted the whole drum and it is way too much color.

some guy has a honda civic here with exhaust, rims, and a couple other things. he used spray paint to paint his calipers on the front and then painted the drums yellow to match the calipers... wow, it looked horrible. made me look twice because i thought something was caught in his wheel.

i'd just stick with black or grey.

i painted my rear drums a regular black color. it has a slight gloss to it, but trust me, black is the way to go. they have been painted for like 9 months now, and still holding up perfect. i used high-temp black engine paint.

id get pics, but im bust right now. lol.

for some reason i dont think it would look bad to paint them red on a white car, but ill probably go with black.
