  • New Paint Job

Well everybody, I just couldn't take it anymore. I've got scratches and dents and discoloration and chipping clearcoat. So needless to say, my baby is gonna be getting painted again. No, I'm not rough on this car. I try to pamper it, I actually did wash some of the paint off of the back bumper, lol.
    Anywho, the list:

Fix/paint Passenger Side Rocker Panel (Curbed it at the bank).
Fix/paint/clear Passenger Side Rear Quarter Panel (Deep scratch, don't ask).
Sand/paint/clear Front Bumper (Lots of chips, and a few scratches from the Billet Grille).
Sand/paint/clear Driver Side Door (Previous owner had it painted and not enough was applied clearcoat chipping off)
Fix/sand/paint/STRIPES/clear Hood (Had a dimple impression, previous owner shut the hood on the oil cap, STRIPES)
    Sand/stripes/clear Roof
    Sand/stripes/clear Hatch
    Sand/stripes/clear Spoiler
Buff and polish rest of the car (Whatever wasn't painted on will be shined up, lol).
Stripes will be under the clearcoat.

Well everybody, wish me luck. I'm gonna be a nervous wreck for the rest of this week. I had to leave the car home, so somebody can take it to the Shop while I'm at school. I wont see the results till Friday.
Well everybody, tell me what you think.

The rest of the car is fine, and my bank account is getting really, really low. So, if the driver side rear quarter panel, rear bumper, and two front fenders (only parts that arent getting painted) don't match up perfectly, it wont bother me right now. That would probobly be and extra 500+ just for those three things. If they dont match, I'll have them repaint them after I get some money this summer.
The stripes are gonna be black.
The primary stripes are 9 inches wide.
The pin stripes are 1/8 inch wide.
They are offset from the primary stripe by 1/8 inch.
Primary stripes are on a 5 1/4 inch centerline (2 5/8 inch from the hood crease to each one).
They will be rounded on the corners.
They wont come down past where the bumper rolls under into the grille.
The stripes do not come down past the trunk lid closes.
      Stripes on Hood/Roof/Hatch/Spoiler.

All of that stripe work will be under brand new clear coat, so it will be smooth as glass. The total cost for all the stripe work is $350. Oh well, I've wanted them for a while now.

The whole job is gonna just a tick over $1000.

Lol, I was thinking the same thing after checking out your site. I was thinking about leaving the headlight covers and the grille out after the paint job gets done. Then I noticed you took both of those off of yours. So I guess I'm copying off of you again. Lol. I just hope it all turns out great. Thanks again for helpin me out with the stripes.
