  • nightshade tailight blackout??!!!!

Anyone ever follow through with this? I would love to see some pix. It seems like in certain angles, my tailight lenses are lighter then the rest of the car and im thinking that maybe the nighshades stuff would be darkers/reflect less. I think that how you can keep the reverse lights would looks badass, it would help with the plain-ness of the rear when you have lenses.... someone PLEASE show some pixs! even photoshoped!!!!!!!!!!!!!! thanks.

so has no one done this mod yet? i have heard quite a bit of talking about it... if it looked bad you could always sand it off right? just use some 3m rubbing compound and get it all off then usea nice scratch remover and polish it back, better than before! how easy does this stuff go one, does it smooth on or if you spray too much is it not going to blend. thanks

It says on the can two or three quick passes on any one spot is enough so you definitely don't want to over spray. The finish isn't exactly glossy when viewed up close so I'd recommend finishing it off with some clear coat spray. Mine blends in with my black car perfectly and you can still see light through the blackouts when you turn em on but it's not the same color as it was stock and the light doesn't illuminate the whole piece anymore, only the middle section. I'm sure most states have laws against tail light and head light blackouts so I wouldn't push my luck by doing those, but any accessory lights should be a lot less noticable to the law man!

i've done it on my 'maro, no pics though. i did about 9 coats to get it totally black. 2 or 3 coats isn't nearly enough. i left the reverse lights as they are and just sprayed the brake lights, turn signals, and sidemarkers.
