  • What color should I paint my car?

This is the car as of now...

I was thinking a darkish silver but for the entire car not a 2 toned with black for the top and side pillars. Don't know how that would look. The big thing is I wanted something lighter colored so its a little less hot in the sun and also a color thats easy on maintaince. Black and white seem to show dirt to easily but I think a silver would hide some better. What do you think, and remember pictures are worth a 1000 words. I'll probably get 18" Z06 chrome wheels when I find a good deal with used tires and drop it 1 to 1.5". I don't want it to low just a more symetrical look from top of tire to fender and side of tire to fender distance. I need to decide soon since the car will be in the shop for a while he has to fix the frame damage first then complete painting of the car, fill in the dings etc etc really make her look like new. I may get some sort of black vinyl stripping later (if I got it painted silver). My interior is tan so after this I'd probably trade/sell for a gray interior or do seat covers something like that.

Well, I can definitely tell you that dark silver/gunmetal gray looks pretty sick

Not that I'm biased or anything..... ;)

Yes I know... Frame damage. Any pics of it, I was looking at a Lexus silver, I want sort of a metallic look to it a shine/shimmer. That paint job posted about looks good but still seems a little flat.

Looks a little darker then I'd want to go. What I was thinking of is almost a mix of silver, black flecs that give it depth and gentle color changes based on angles.

That's actually exactly what I originally wanted to do, but ended up costing too much to do. My paint is bare in my pic, no wax or polish and was coated in pollen from the storm a bit earlier. One thing about silver/gray colors is that they tend to be sort of neutral and lack the depth that darker colors have. But the black flake was something I wish I had looked into more, mine has a small amount of silver flakes and doesnt quite get that depth. I like the grayish colors though, gives the car sort of a mysterious look to it.
