  • 18x10.5 ZO6 rims on rear needing spacers?

Would I need jounce spacers or wheel spacers to put on ZO6 rims on the rear of my 2001 Firebird? I'm doing this because I like the look of 18's on out cars and also love how really wide rear tires look too. I'd be putting 295-35-18 tires on there. I know the ride will feel a lot more stiff, but I don't care. I'll get better cornering and traction out of it and that's what I'm lookin for mainly. I know small sidewall tires don't get as good traction as big sidewall tires, but I'm not puttin that much power to the ground anyways. the fronts will be 18x9.5 w/ 275-35-18's so I'm not worried about them, they'll fit no prob.

The SLP jounce spacer is made for a 17 inch wheel. To be on the safe side, I would get something that will give more length to the spacer itself. That way when you do bottom out (and you will), you don't slam the tire in to the well.

As for spacers... don't need them. Back spacing should be fine.

but the tire/wheel diameter is less than the 235-55-16 tire/rim diameter. why would I need the jounce spacer since it sits farther away from the inside fender? is it because it's way wider and the width more than makes up for the loss of diameter?
