  • Convetible Owners ... need some help

How p_ssed am I? I have a 2001 Firebrid convertible that was used for two summers and covered for the winter (14,700 miles total, bought in May 01). Well, the hydraulic pump just went. Yes, the car is still under warranty, but MAJOR mechanical components should not be failing after a year and a half. What's next, the tranny? Computer? And you wonder why GM can't compete with BMW and Mercedes.

Anyways, how many people have had similar troubles or any troubles with their top ... let's say in the first 3 years (i.e. what would still be convered under warranty ... 3 yrs/36,000 miles)

    Thanks

LOL......That already happend to me. I don't have anything else wrong w/my camaro. They will replace it no problem. no charge. That is very common. Those motors always go bad. Its bitter sweet to own one.

I had problems with mine when I first got it I wanted them to replace the whole thing but they said it was a lemon but now that the warranty is over it seems fine.

I have had my 96 camaro for a year and a half, driven through the winter, 95,000 miles on it, and as far as I can tell, it is the factory pump.
