• How do I install clear turnsignals on a 02 camaro?

Ok...I bought some clear front turnsignals and tried to put them in for an hour on Monday. I couldn't get b/c of the way the stuff behind them is. I went to a local body shop and the guy said he'd have to take the entire bumper off to get to them. That sounds too expensive. Has anyone w/ a 98+ Camaro installed these that could tell me how? The factory one's have a styrofoam block on one side and a metal rail on the other keeping them in. Thanks for any help.

A common mistake is trying to go from the top of the car...

Try to go under the car and unscrew the rubber thingie that covers the part underneath the turn signals.

YOu might also have to unscrew the air deflector, but all these things are easy to put back on...

    tell us the results

    hope this helps

Thanks for the help...my signals are at home and i'm at college, so it'll be another couple weeks before i can try it again, but i'll definately try that before i take the bumper off.

You can do it from the top, I did. Take off the headlamp assembly (there are two 10mm bolts to remove) so you can see the top of the turn signal lens. There are 3 7mm bolts holding it on, two bolt heads are facing the rear of the car, and one is facing straight down. Remove them. Once that is done, take the lens out by pulling towards the inside of the car and up. You will need to pull quite hard to get the lens to clear the body pieces that are near the outside of the lens (where it curves around towards the back). One you do it, installation of the new lenses is the reverse of removal. Hope that helps.

I went under my car to get to my signals. Just take the air dam and the other plastic thingy off under the bumper, and then unscrew the old ones, install new ones.

TIP: Put the bulb assembly in the signal, THEN install the signal! Much easier than trying to screw in the bulbs in a hole you can't see from being under the car.

It's much easier from the top! One screw in each headlight and you're there!

One screw in headlight right under the black bracket:

Then you can see the entire turn-signal:

            Good luck.
