    as the title says....do i really need a special tool in order to get the needels off to put my overlays in???

        yea I thought you could just lift them up a little to get the overlay on

          I didn't take mine off either. It took a bit of screwing around but I got my overlays on there without taking them off.

            I left the needles on when I did mine as well.

              Use something with an end similar to a hammer's backside.. or use a hammer's backside, I didn't have any problems... but you hafta be careful of course, especially with putting the needles back on

                I used a fork to take mine off. Just make sure you put all the needles back exactly the way they came off. Not many cops will take the excuse that you redid your guages when you get pulled over for doing fourty-two in a twenty-five, lol.
