  • What are these called?

I have been looking for these everywhere and have no idea where to search due to the fact that I don't even know the proper name. What I'm talking about are the inserts that take up your front license plate area on 98 and up firebirds. I'm sure if you've seen them you know what I'm talking about, but I just don't know what they are called and can't seem to find them online.

Yeah i know what your talking about. I guess you would call it front license plate cover, i'm not for sure. Are you replacing yours or what?

I'm actually looking for one since I got my firebird used and don't have one at all.

License plate filler or license plate cover.

www.afterthoughtsauto.com has a cool clear one. (There's a ton of crap that you can do with a clear filler)... Check my page (3 and 7) if you want to see what it looks like on a car.

Those are pretty cool, but I think any sort of plastic overlay on a front plate is illegal where I live (Maine). Kind of weird laws - we don't need a front plate but if we have one, it can't be obstructed.

Thats cool i've never seen a clear one. If you wanted one that came stock on your car a GM parts store could probably order it

Unless Maine changed its law (I moved out 10 years ago), a front plate was required.

                  aah, how I DON'T miss Lewiston/Auburn.

Well technically it's not written either way if you have to or don't have to have one. If a cop has a bug up his *** then he can choose to pull you over for it just for the sake of impeding your flow, but most times you're alright.
