  • Need ur opinion on a hood

I recently had hail damage to my car so i'm thinking of replacing my hood with an after market type hood. What type should i replace it with, an SS type hood or the type that looks like the Trans Am Ram air WS6 type? By the way does anyone know what this type of hood is called for a Camaro?I've heard Ram Air II,Raptor hood, and Predator hood????Which one is right , if any.

It's called an Ultra Z hood if you are referring to this one. I personally love the SS style and that's what is on my camaro right now =)

ss style... i think the double vision hood looks a little out of place on a camaro.and the only reason why i wouldnt pick the ultra z hood is that i costs like $700. oh well, do research and getthe hood that you like.

SS hood on a non SS doesnt really appeal to me, i love the ultra Z hood, and just plain cowl hoods, i dont like the big block cowl/ss hood things

The hood you are talking about is the Raptor II. Thats if you mean the new WS6. That hood is not functional so whats the point and personally it doesn't look smooth for the Camaro's. The SS hood it looks good but thats the SS logo once again thats me. You should either go for the Ultra Z or what I have from Suncoast Creations the Z Style hood. Its from the old WS6 it looks real good on Camaros and it turns heads all the time Plus for the price of the Ultra Z you get the ZR1 Vett intake with K&N Filter. Heres the link to my website if you want to check it out. http://hometown.aol.com/chevyracing98/ Mine is on the 98 of course but for your 97 I think it looks smoother. Go to suncoastcreations.com and you will see a lot of picks of your type of body and you can deside. But once again thats just my opinion.

I think for your car you're best off with a Camaro SS hood.
