  • Engine appearance upgrade is underway

I shipped 59 lbs. worth of engine parts to Jet-Hot today. I am in the middle of a complete engine rebuild so I figured that while I have the engine out, it's time to really dress it up.

I am painting the block and heads the same color as the outside of the car (maroon) and the following parts will be Jet-Hotted...
    - Upper Intake Manifold
    - Lower Intake Manifold
    - Oil Pan
    - Engine Mount brackets
    - Front Timing Cover
    - 2 Accessory Brackets
    - PS Pump Pulley
    - Alt Pulley and fan blade
    - Tensioner Pulley
    - Crank Pulley
    - Water Pump Pulley
    - AC Eliminator bracket
    - Engine lift brackets (on each cylinder head)

For those of you who don't know about Jet-Hot, they do a high temperature, high durability coating that has a high shine attribute like chrome or polished aluminum. I think this combo will look nice with the chrome Edelbrock valve covers, maroon block/heads as well as the bright red MSD coils and yellow Nology Wires.

Gimmie some opinions of what you guys think. I will take some pics when the parts get back which should be 2-3 weeks. By that time, I should have the internal engine parts installed and balanced and ready for the other parts. I will also have an instruction guide for painting your cylinder heads in the next few days.

I got my parts back from Jet Hot today. Everything looks awesome! The link below is to a picture directory. I have some more pics, but this will give you an idea of what it will look like. Keep in mind that the block is NOT in the pic because it is still at the machine shop. The block and heads will be maroon and the rest you will see in the pics. Next is the alternator casing and the thermostat housing (I forgot both on the last shipment). Let me know what you think!

Thanks. Sorry the pics are so dark. I just decided to take some pics tonight. I will take some more tomorrow in the daylight and you can REALLY see how amazing it all looks together.

It will be a lot different with the block in there....right now it's just the heads, intakes and accessory brackets for the most part. The block will add a huge chunk in there and then I can add the oil pan, crank pulley, and engine brackets.

We are a distributor for Jet Hot so I got a nice little break on the price. It WOULD HAVE been around $700 for all that I had coated.

even $700 doesnt seem that bad. Kinda pricey for an appearence only mod; but lets face it exhausts cost close to that :/
